SUPPORTING THE BC AMBULANCE INFANT TRANSPORT TEAM
When the BC Ambulance Infant Transport Team moves an incredibly fragile and tiny patient to the leading Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in western Canada – located at BC Women’s Hospital in Vancouver -- time is of the essence. Sudden, undetected changes in blood gas levels may result in severe damage to a neonate’s health and should be acted upon immediately. However, these delicate patients cannot readily sustain multiple, invasive tests for monitoring. So, the ability to use a transcutaneous monitor in transit – a non-invasive pCO2 monitor -- provides the opportunity to be highly-attuned to the infant’s condition while being gentle.

The PURICA Foundation is proud to share our new commitment to the BC Ambulance Infant Transport Team and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at BC Women’s Hospital. And we’d love you to join us in our campaign to raise funds for the critical care and support provided by this very important Infant Transport Team.
Your support will go a long way to ensuring the most vulnerable of tiny British Columbians have the chance to survive and in many cases live full, active, healthy lives thanks to the BC Ambulance Infant Transport Team and the NICU at BC Women’s Hospital.
